Sleep Study 2.0- No Improvement over 1.0 Five years later- and how do they call them sleep studies when you don’t sleep?

At least this lady got a wire holder to carry all her wires to the bathroom in contrast to me who had to trip over them

Sleep study 2.0 was deja vu all over again April 2-again 5 years later. How do they call it a sleep study when you don’t sleep?

I had a sleep study For sleep apnea Five years ago when I first Began using a CPAP machine And it was bad then. And now it might even be worse. Last time at least they tried to use a home -like setting whereas this time it was in a nondescript, cold , steely, sterile building and when I got there at 9:45 p.m. the door to the building was locked and they had given me no information about a code to get in. The only thing they gave me was a faded multi-copied instruction sheet I could barely read and it did not mention a code .Fortunately I figured out the phone number and there was a special , secret ‘push number six ‘ and you’ll get the after hours ‘sleep team’ . some sleep team. well , they finally answer their phone as I prepare to turn around and go home- and gave me the code which should have been the first thing they told me because it was tricky including the two different doors to get in and it was not mentioned on the so-called instruction sheet .

Anyway , I get in there and they take me to what was once probably an industrial office , now made into a sterile bedroom and they started hooking me up with at least 25 wires and monitors all over my body and my hair.

No, I did not sleep a wink.. They claimed after 2:00 a.m. I did sleep a little bit and then when they finally let me leave at 5:30 am my head was covered with Gunk from holding thr wires, like having gum in your hair. Not to mention about four or five monitors they left on me that pull your hair when you take them out.

And then they made me sign a release form that I was capable of driving home at 5:30 in the morning in the dark with virtually no sleep. Of course I said yes just to get out of there and I did make it home alive but it wasn’t the the most comfortable drive home in the dark with one eye open and no coffee or anything. And then when I get home I still have monitors stuck all over me and gum in my hair. it’s going to take a lot of shampoos to get out. And probably no results from the sleep study cuz I didn’t sleep . so was a waste of time quite probably but it was definitely an experience I could write about here and I don’t know if anything good come out of it.unfortunately. that was that I it was over and I survived.

Kathleen who I would later find out was not Kathleen but Keflan from outer Mongolia, celebrating her first anniversary working there at the lab . would seem like a pretty long time. Maybe she enjoyed torturing people at night. She was pretty non-committal when I asked her how she liked her job and I can see why.

There was one positive, perhaps the only positive is that I learned that I can quote unquote’ sleep ‘ on my back without the CPAP machine. I figured that was a good time to try sleeping on my back because I wouldn’t die if people were there to monitor me.

I wrote an article about my first CPAP experience 5 years ago and you can compare that with this and you’ll see there’s not much difference.>>>https://seniorcountry.org/wake-america-sleep-centers-cpap-devicesbeneficial-new-medical-scams/
